On September 14, 2026, ACCA held a ceremony to mark 25 years of its presence in Vietnam, under the theme “ACCA Vietnam: 25 Years of Creating Value, Shaping the Future.” The milestone provided an opportunity to reflect on ACCA’s journey and the development of the professional community in Vietnam, while recognizing the individuals and organizations that have accompanied and contributed to this journey.
On this special occasion, CGS Vietnam extends its warmest congratulations to ACCA Vietnam, as well as to generations of leaders, members, students, partners and professionals who have contributed to ACCA’s 25-year journey in Vietnam.
25 years of ACCA alongside Vietnam’s professional community
From just 11 members in its early days, ACCA has grown to a community of more than 1,300 members and over 7,000 students in Vietnam. The ACCA community has also expanded its professional reach, from accounting, auditing and finance to governance, strategy and sustainability.
Throughout this journey, ACCA has not only focused on professional education and capability development, but has also strengthened its collaboration with regulators, professional bodies, businesses and educational institutions. These efforts have helped connect Vietnam’s professional community with international knowledge, standards and professional networks.
As technology, ESG and sustainability continue to reshape professional expectations, the role of finance and accounting professionals is also expanding. The 25-year milestone therefore represents not only an opportunity to reflect on the value ACCA has created, but also the beginning of a new chapter for Vietnam’s professional community.
A journey shared by CGS Vietnam’s professionals
For CGS Vietnam, ACCA’s 25-year milestone carries a particularly meaningful connection, as several CGS professionals have been closely involved with and contributed to the ACCA community in Vietnam over many years. Among them is Mr. Nguyen Viet Thinh, Chief Executive Officer of CGS Vietnam. A long-standing ACCA member, he previously held a leadership role within the ACCA member community in Vietnam.
This connection extends beyond his involvement in the ACCA member community. One area to which ACCA and CGS Vietnam professionals have devoted considerable effort over the years is Sustainability Reporting.
In 2013, the Sustainability Reporting Award (SRA) was introduced as part of the awards program for listed companies, the predecessor of today’s Vietnam Listed Company Awards (VLCA). ACCA has played a technical role in the award since its early years.
During this period, Mr. Nguyen Viet Thinh became involved in evaluating Sustainability Reports and served as Chair of the judging panel for this category for many years. Other CGS Vietnam professionals have also participated in this professional assessment process.
At the ceremony marking 25 years of ACCA in Vietnam, these contributions were once again recognized. Alongside Mr. Nguyen Viet Thinh, Mr. Hoang Duc Hung – Chairman of the Board of Directors of CGS Vietnam – and Mr. Ton That Hac Minh – Sustainability Expert and Collaborator of CGS Vietnam, were also recognized by ACCA for their contributions as members of the Sustainability Reporting Award (SRA) judging panel.
Behind the recognition of each individual is a professional journey spanning many years. Through the Sustainability Reporting assessment process, ACCA and members of the judging panel have contributed to encouraging listed companies to place greater emphasis on reporting quality, transparency and the way sustainability matters are communicated to investors and other stakeholders.
From professional connections to institutional collaboration
The relationship between ACCA Vietnam and CGS Vietnam was further strengthened when, on December 18, 2025, CGS Vietnam was officially recognized by ACCA Vietnam as an ACCA Approved Employer.
For CGS, this represents more than recognition of its professional development environment. Becoming an ACCA Approved Employer also builds on the connections established through CGS Vietnam’s professionals, while creating further opportunities for its team to access international knowledge and standards and engage with the wider ACCA professional community.
At the recognition ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Thinh also highlighted ACCA’s increasingly broad role, extending beyond accounting and finance into areas such as Corporate Governance, digital transformation and Sustainability. These areas also closely align with CGS Vietnam’s professional focus.
Looking back at these milestones, the connection between CGS Vietnam and ACCA Vietnam has developed naturally: from professionals participating in the same professional community and contributing expertise in sustainability, to creating an environment in which the next generation of professionals can continue to develop in line with international standards.

Twenty-five years is a significant journey in building a professional community, but it also marks the beginning of a new chapter shaped by evolving expectations of the profession. On this special milestone, CGS Vietnam extends sincere congratulations to ACCA and to the generations of leaders, team members, members, students and partners who have contributed to its 25-year journey in Vietnam.
